St. James Choir

The St. James Choir is the parish choir of St. James’ Church, and we share the choral participation in the church liturgy with our friends in the Athboy Church Folk Group.
Our recent history is marked by the late Olive Rice Cole who directed the choir from 1980 to 2013, and left the legacy of her very fine St. James’ Mass in honour of the Church.

We are very proud of 2-manual 500+ pipe organ by Peter Conacher & Co. which was moved from Eccles St. Convent and reconstructed on the church gallery in the 1980’s. Our organist Noel Griffin is with us for the past 18 years.

Richard Brady has recently taken over as Choir Director and is noted for many successes at choral festivals and TV appearances, with a number of choirs.

The mixed choir presently numbers 25, and is always welcoming of new members.

Lourdes, Sept 2018 – the choir will represent the Meath Diocesan Pilgrimage.
