Guide us by your wisdom, support us by your power, for you are God, sharing the glory of the Father and Son. Unite us to yourself in the bond of love and keep us faithful to all that is true. You live and reign, with the Father and the Son, one God, for ever and ever. Amen  

BAPTISMAL MEETING: The next baptismal meeting for parents who wish to have their babies’ baptised takes place on Monday June 12th 2017 at 8pm in the Parochial House. Please enrol in advance to the Parochial House.                                                                   

CEMETERY DEVOTIONS take place in Rathmore on Sunday June 18th at 3pm, in Athboy on Sunday 25th June at 3pm and Old St. James’ at 2pm. Devotions in the Hill of Ward cemetery takes place on Friday 23rd June at 7.30pm and in the Abbey in Rathmore on Thursday August 10th at 7.30pm.                                                                

 DUMPING IN THE GRAVEYARD:  You are requested to bring home any rubbish with you from the graveyard.                                                                                                        

 SUMMER OFFERINGS:  Next Sunday June 11th is an Offering Day for the support and care of the priests of our parish.                                                                                     

THE PAROCHIAL HOUSE: At a meeting of the parishioners on the 28th June 1868, it was resolved to build a new residence. The foundation stone was laid on the 25th of the following month. The Parochial House bears the inscription: “BUILT 1868 BY THE GENEROUS SUBSCRIPTIONS OF THE PEOPLE OF ATHBOY AS A PERPETUAL RESIDENCE FOR THE OFFICIATING CATHOLIC CLERGY OF THE PARISH.” The roof of the Parochial House is now in an advanced state of disrepair and needs to be replaced, as the roof is leaking. The house is a listed building and the necessary permissions had to be received from Meath County Council before any repairs could begin. A consultant was appointed and the job was tendered. It has been awarded to Eirim Developments, Moygrehan, Athboy. Meath County Council Build Heritage Investment Scheme has approved a grant of €2,500 towards the cost of the work.                                                                      

MONTHLY PADRE PIO MASS takes place on Wednesday June 7th at 8pm in St. Mary’s Church, Navan. Blessing with St. Pio’s glove after Mass. Everyone welcome.                                                                          

MEATH PILGRIMAGE TO Lourdes:  There are three places allocated to the parish of Athboy for hospital pilgrims on the Meath pilgrimage to Lourdes from 12th to 17th Sept 2017. For more information contact Phyllis on 046 9432309.

 WORLD MEETING OF FAMILIES 21-26 AUGUST 2018: The volunteering process has opened for the World Meeting of Families on www.worldmeeting2018.ie/volunteer. In excess of 1,500 already have expressed an interest in volunteering. Everyone who has expressed an interest will need to complete a volunteer form. Applicants must be residents of Ireland and over 18 years of age.                                                                      

 ALL IRELAND RALLY FOR LIFE:  Join the tens of thousands as we march to celebrate Life and in support of the 8th amendment on Saturday July 1st in Dublin City Centre. Starting at Parnell Square at 2pm.                                                                                             

MEATH DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO KNOCK takes place on Sunday 13th August.                   

ATHBOY RFC GOLF CLASSIC Sat July 1st in the Knightsbrook Golf Resort, Trim. 4 Ball Scramble €200. Time Sheets in the Sadler’s Well.                                                                                                 

MIDSUMMER WALK FOR HOMELESSNESS: Hill of Tara to Newgrange Sat 24th June 12 noon start. Half way walk along the Boyne from the Ramparts in Navan to Slane 1.15pm. All proceeds to Fr Peter Mc Verry Trust.
