HILL OF WARD GARDENS: You are invited to visit and enjoy afternoon tea at Hill of Ward House Gardens, Trim Road today Sunday, 27th August from 2 to 6pm. Donations in aid of church funds.                                                                                                                              

SCHOOLS  in the parish re-open on Wed 30th August.                                                                                                        

FIRST FRIDAY – Friday Sept 1st: Masses at 8am and 7.30pm for those on the parish List of the Dead. Communion Calls on Friday also at the usual times.   

BAPTISMAL MEETING: The next baptismal meeting for parents who wish to have their babies’ baptised takes place Monday September 4th 2017 at 8pm in the Parochial House. Please enrol in advance to the Parochial House.                                                                                      

CHY 4 FORMS: if you have received a CHY4 form recently from the Parish Office, we would appreciate if you would return it as soon as possible. The Revenue Commissioners offer a tax rebate to charities for donations over €250 per year from any individual.                                                                                                                                                        

RATHMORE CHURCH CHOIR: Church Choir sing at 9am Mass on Sundays and practice monthly. New members welcome. Contact Fergus at 0872063086 or Mary at 0872276756.                                                                                                            

ATHBOY CHURCH CHOIR: Athboy Church Choir sing at 11.30am Mass every Sunday in St. James’ Church and practice most Wednesday nights for one hour. The choir is currently seeking new members, both ladies and gentlemen. If you are new to the parish or have ever sung in a choir and feel that you would like to get involved in church music, then why not come along to either Mass or practice and the choir and its Director will be more than happy to meet you. The choir resumes on Sunday September 3rd.

BINGO   in aid of Church funds takes place on Sunday September 10th at 3pm in the Darnley Lodge Hotel. All welcome.

DANCE CLASSES: Social Dance Classes commence in Macra Hall on Wednesday, 6th September from 8.30 to 10.30pm. All welcome.                                                               

GIRLEY HARVEST FESTIVAL takes place on Sunday August 27th on the Kells/Athboy Road from 12noon. Adm €10. Children Free.                                                                

ATHBOY CONVENT COMMUNITY CENTRE’S COLOUR DASH on Sunday 27th August. This colourful 5K fun run/walk will take place from the CCC on the Kildalkey Road at 2pm. Register online at www.eventbrite.ie or register on the day.                                      

WORLD MEETING OF FAMILIES 2018 takes place in Dublin 21-26 August 2018, with families and others from all over the world sharing their experiences and reflecting on different challenges they face and to grow together in faith. Its website www.worldmeeting2018.ie is now live and registration to attend this event is open. There is also an online application form for those who wish to volunteer. “A Joy for All  the World” – the official hymn for the World Meeting of Families was composed by Meath teacher Ephrem Feeley. The hymn found its inspiration in St. Paul’s famous hymn to love in I Corinthians 13. It is available to download on the website also.
