WELCOME:  We welcome with great joy and many congratulations our newly baptised babies: - Emily Cusack and Noah Smith. OFFERING DAY: Today, Sunday Sept 24th is an Offering Day for the support of the priests of our parish. (Transport Collection)                                                                 

ENVELOPE SERIES:  The current envelope series finishes today Sunday Sept 24th. The committee are in the process of preparing the new boxes for distribution.

BAPTISMAL MEETING: The next baptismal meeting for parents who wish to have their babies’ baptised takes place on Monday October 2nd 2017 at 8pm in the Parochial House. Please enrol in advance to the Parochial House.                                                                      

ALTAR SERVERS: We thank the Altar Servers and their parents who have gone to secondary school and we welcome our new servers.                                                               

BINGO in aid of Church funds takes place on Sunday October 8th at 3pm in the Darnley Lodge Hotel. All welcome.                                                                                                   

CONFIRMATION takes place on Friday 23rd February 2018 at 3pm.                               

IT IS 700 YEARS ON 17th 2017 since the Carmelite monastery was founded here in Athboy. Our evening Mass on Tuesday 17th October will be celebrated by the Carmelites to commemorate this occasion and Bishop Smith will attend. After Mass, Fr Simon Nolan, noted historian, will give a talk on “The Flourishing of Carmel in Ireland” to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the founding of Athboy Friary.                                                                                                               

WORLD MEETING OF FAMILIES:  In preparation for the World Meeting of Families 2018, anyone from the parish who is interested in getting involved is invited to a meeting in the Knightsbrook Hotel, Trim on Monday 25th Sept at 7.30pm. Please contact the Parochial House before next Thursday if you wish to attend.                                                                                   

EUCHARISTIC ASSEMBLIES for all Adorers in the Newgrange Hotel, Navan on Sat 7th Oct- 9.50am to 4.30pm.                                                                                     

“SPEAK LORD, YOUR SERVANT IS LISTENING” Vocation Retreat Day on Sat Sept 30th 9.30am-5pm for young adults (18-40) in Dalgan Park, Navan. A day of prayer, conversation, and discernment. RADIO MARIA IRELAND is an Irish-run Catholic Talk-Radio station and is available to download free by App “Radio Maria World Family.” Prayer, Catechesis, uplifting music all commercial free with live Morning Prayer at 9.15am followed by Mass.                                                                                                                                                                                                  

EVENING CLASSES in Athboy Community School commence on Tues 7th November and run for 6 weeks. Enrolments by contacting the school office.   Courses range from Photography, Flower Arranging, Sign Language, Art etc. Brochures in the shops in town.                                                                                                              

SEAN NOS DANCING CLASSES resume on Wed 27th Sept at 9pm in the Convent Community Centre, Kildalkey Rd., Athboy. CHY 4 FORMS: if you have received a CHY4 form from the Parish Office, we would appreciate if you would return it as soon as possible. The Revenue Commissioners offer a tax rebate to charities for donations over €250 per year from any individual.This applies to both self employed and PAYE people. The parish complies with all data proctection and charity regulations.                                                                                           

PRO-LIFE SEMINARS: Ask Majella Pregnancy Support  Service presents Prof Priscilla Coleman and Dr. Angela Lanfranchi, two leaders in the field of research into the effect of abortion on women’s mental health and links to breast cancer in the Aisling Hotel (beside Heuston Station) Dublin on Sat Sept 30th 10am-4pm Entry €20. Registration from 9.30am. Also in Dublin on Thurs Sept 28th at 8pm in the Gibson Hotel, Point Village there is a public meeting to hear three women give their personal testimonies about conceiving a child after assault or being conceived in this way themselves. They will explain why women deserve love, compassion, and support and why every child has a right to life, whatever the circumstances of conception.
