OFFERTORY COLLECTION at all the Masses today will be collected for the missions. Donations are collected today on Mission Sunday at all Masses worldwide to support churches, schools and vocations in countries where the Church is new, young or poor.                                                                                                   

HALLOWEEN BINGO in aid of Church funds will be held on Bank Holiday Sunday October 29th at 3pm in the Darnley Lodge Hotel. All welcome.                                                                     

ALL NIGHT EUCHARISTIC ADORATION FOR THE HOLY SOULS – starting on Wednesday Nov 1st after evening Mass until Thursday 2nd Nov at 9am before Mass at 9.30am. There is a book at the back of the Church where you can sign for an hour that suits you. It is good to remember and pray for the Holy Souls.                            

LIST OF THE DEAD ENVELOPES are available at the back of all the Churches and have been distributed with the boxes of envelopes.  The Masses on the Feast of All Souls, November 2nd and on the First Fridays throughout the year are offered for those on the parish List of the Dead.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           

BAPTISMAL MEETING: The next baptismal meeting for parents who wish to have their babies’ baptised takes place on Monday November 6th 2017 at 8pm in the Parochial House. Please enrol in advance to the Parochial House.                                   

THANKS to all who participated and attended the Mass commemorating the 700th Anniversary of the founding of the Carmelite Friary in Athboy last Tuesday to make the evening such a wonderful success.  Photographs of this great occasion can be viewed at www.facebook.com/carmelitesireland/                                                                                        

PARKING IN CHURCH GROUNDS:  We ask able-bodied people to park in the car park and leave parking in the Church grounds for those who are elderly and infirm.                                                                

ENVELOPE SERIES:  The new series of envelopes has begun and the new boxes distributed. Sincere thanks to those undertake to prepare the boxes and those who help in delivering them throughout the parish.                                                                                         

CONFIRMATION takes place on Friday 23rd February 2018 at 3pm.                                  

CONVENT COMMUNITY CENTRE AGM Monday 23rd Oct at 8pm in Room 19. All are welcome.                                                                                                                           

MEATH LATERLIFE NETWORK Roadshow on Tues 7th Nov at 10am in the Ardboyne Hotel, Navan. Information and advice for the over 55s.                                                    

TUS SCHEME: Meath Partnership is currently seeking to expand the number of participants on the TUS scheme. It is a one year community work scheme for people who are unemployed for more than 12 months and in receipt of a jobseeker’s payment. If you are interested please contact Tina on 085 8342378.

ATHBOY COMMUNITY GOSPEL CHOIR are performing in a concert along with other guests on Friday 10th Nov at 8pm in the Protestant Church, Athboy. Tickets from Anne Leavy.                                                                                                                

O’GROWNEY NS PARENTS ASSOCIATION AGM in the school on Monday next at 7.30pm.

Commenting on Wednesday’s Oireachtas Committee vote, Dr. Ruth Cullen of Pro Life said, “The committee have issued the verdict before the evidence was even heard. From the very start, this process has been a complete travesty. The committee has lined up more than 25 abortion advocates to present but have only invited 3 pro-life speakers. This signifies the committee’s total contempt for democracy and the protection of human life. Clearly the committee thinks the vote was another smart political stroke – voting before even hearing the evidence of the witnesses they have invited to present at taxpayer’ expense”
