November is the month that is especially dedicated to remembering and praying for our loved ones who have departed this life and have gone before us into Eternal Life. There are the visits to the cemetery and to the church, the Indulgences for the Faithful Departed, the compiling of the List of the Dead, the Feast of all Saints and All Souls.

LIST OF THE DEAD ENVELOPES are available at the back of all the Churches and have been distributed with the boxes of envelopes and should be returned to the Parochial House as soon as possible. The Masses on the First Fridays throughout the year are offered for those on the parish List of the Dead.

OUR ANNUAL PARISH REMEMBRANCE AND BEREAVEMENT CEREMONY takes place on Sunday Nov 19th at 7.30pm. A prayerful and meaningful ceremony, which it is hoped, will help us all on the journey of grief following the loss of a loved one. All are welcome.

Prayers for the Bereaved and the Faithful Departed

May the most compassionate Virgin Mary, loving consoler of all who mourn, commend to her Son, the souls of our dead, so that through the intercession of Mary, the Mother of God, they may joyfully enter the home in heaven for which they have longed and there live for ever and ever. Amen

Father of mercies and God of all consolation, you pursue us with untiring love and dispel the shadow of death with the bright light of life. Comfort your people in their sorrow. Be our refuge and our strength, O Lord, and lift us from the depths of grief into the peace and light of your presence. Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, by dying has destroyed our death, and by rising, restored our life. Enable us therefore to press on towards him, so that, after our earthly course is run, he may reunite us with those we love when every tear will be wiped away. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
