Good Friday Holy Land Collection

Published on

Bishop Deenihan has asked us to remember the people of the Holy Land on Good Friday and to support them with a collection.

With the outbreak of war in Israel, the Christians there and throughout the Holy Land rely heavily on our help, particularly for humanitarian aid and relief.  Funds from the Good Friday collection that Catholic Church provides presence, care and service to the people who are living under war in the land of Christ.  You can make a difference in the lives of our brothers and sisters who live, work, and are struggling to survive in the land where Jesus walked on this earth.

It is important that we continue to support Christians who are living in the land of Jesus’ birth, life, crucifixion and resurrection. These faithful Christians are surrounded by a majority Jewish and Islamic population and are subjected to war and violence.   Please help Christians in the Holy Land with your contribution to the Good Friday Collection.

Last year’s collection provided support to 29 parishes and 4 homes for orphans.

The funds collected also helped keep 16 schools open for over 10,000 students under the age of 12.

This will take place at the Stations of the Cross and Celebration of the Lord’s Passion.
